Are you hearing the pitter patter of little feet, and its only two days after ovulation? You may want to wait a little longer before taking a Home Pregnancy Test - ideally when you are about 1 to 4 days late with your period. Home Pregnancy Tests detect the presence of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone. hCG is secreted by the developing placenta shortly after ovulation. The longer you wait to do the test, the stronger the hormone levels in your urine, and the more accurate the result.
It is best to test first thing in the morning when your urine is the strongest, but if you’re like most women, you can’t wait that long! Go ahead and test now. A lot of test kits come with two tests, so use one now and if the result is negative, try again in the morning or at a later date.
If you normally have an irregular menstrual cycle, it is probably best to wait until your period is about 4 days late to test for pregnancy.
