After several months of pregnancy, you’re tired. Your skin is blotchy, your breasts are leaking, and you feel like a cow. You’re not sleeping well and sex is a distant memory. And they expect you to be glowing? We write about this topic because one of our SmartMomma members tells us this story.
“After feeling not particularly attractive and tired one day, a neighbor comes over to my house to visit. Mind you, she is a mom too. She tells me that I must be having a girl because she has stolen all my beauty. She follows this with a little laugh and asks me if I’ve heard the wives tale? Can you believe this?”
We at SmartMomma have heard stories such as these too often. Are you expected to always be cute, wrapped in a nice little maternity dress, with your hair and makeup done perfectly? Pregnancy is not a comfortable state of being, yet you are supposed to be glowing. We don’t know about you, but we don’t always feel like we're glowing, except, of course, when we forget to powder our nose.
If you're feeling tired of being pregnant and need a pick-me-up, you have to check out Jenny McCarthy's book - "Belly Laughs".
It will put a smile on your face again, and you will see that even the most glamorous ladies go through the pains and discomforts of pregnancy.
